Staffordshire’s Green Gala welcomes House of Lords Peer, Natalie Bennett
The Globe Group’s 2nd annual Green Gala and Networking Event, sponsored by Staffordshire University, brought together businesses, government, academia, third-sector organisations leaders and decision-makers from across England and Wales for an evening of discussion to celebrate climate action and showcase net-zero ambitions.
The event also served as a climate action fundraising event where attendees can elect to “donate a plate” and participate in a silent auction, which generated £1200 toward our nonprofit work.
Keynote Speaker Baroness Natalie Bennett gave a thoughtful speech emphasising how the lack of action on tackling the climate crisis is exponentially impacting the most vulnerable populations. She expressed empathy and compassion whilst also underlining the need for leaders to take meaningful, sustainable action to build a society that is fit for the future and is just for all levels of community.
Other speakers included Marek Hornak, Associate Dean of Staffordshire University and Kate Copeland, Founder and Managing Director of The Globe Group.

The evening was hosted at Uttoxeter Racecourse, with a low-carbon menu for guests. The Racecourse, also then hosted the Climate Expo the following day, a large climate and sustainability exhibition to further the aim of collaborative working for decarbonisation.
